Banat is a historical multicultural and interethnic region in Central Europe. Written and edited by experts with unique views on the subject (archaeologists, archeoastronomers, history investigators, and engineers) it is a valuable resource for scientists and the general public. It reflects the editors' humble attempt to popularize this region and its cultural astronomy to the world and pave the way for further research. Marc Frincu has a Ph.D. in computer science, is vice president of the European Society for Astronomy in Culture, and founder and vice president of the Romanian Society for Cultural Astronomy. He has authored and edited three books in Romanian on the subject and has published peer-reviewed articles on sites in Romania, Serbia, and Armenia. Simina Frincu has a Ph.D. in the history of translation, is a founder of the Romanian Society for Cultural Astronomy, and has co-authored and edited two books on archeoastronomy and ethnoastronomy.
